What are TPUs and TPEs?
Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) and Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE) are flexible, rubber-like materials known for their excellent elasticity, impact resistance, and durability. They provide the benefits of rubber-like flexibility with the ease of thermoplastic processing, making them ideal for applications requiring soft-touch, flexibility, and resilience.
TPU typically offers higher wear resistance, chemical resistance, and strength, while TPE provides a wider range of softness and better cost efficiency for non-demanding applications. Both materials can be customised to achieve the desired hardness, flexibility, and performance characteristics.
