What is SAN?
Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN) is a transparent, rigid thermoplastic that combines the clarity and ease of processing of polystyrene with the enhanced chemical resistance and toughness of acrylonitrile. It offers good stiffness, excellent surface finish, and improved heat resistance compared to general-purpose polystyrene (GPPS).
Common Applications
SAN is widely used in consumer goods, kitchenware, and cosmetic packaging due to its clarity and durability. It is also commonly found in household appliances, battery cases, and lab equipment where chemical resistance and dimensional stability are required.
