What is LDPE?

LDPE is a flexible, lightweight thermoplastic known for its excellent impact resistance, chemical stability, and electrical insulation properties. While it has moderate tensile strength, its toughness and flexibility make it ideal for film, sheet, and coating applications. LDPE also offers good moisture resistance, making it a popular choice in packaging and industrial uses.

Common Applications

LDPE is widely used in film and sheet production, including polythene bags, shrink wrap, and protective coverings. Beyond packaging, it is commonly found in seals, gaskets and irrigation tubing. Injection moulding grades are available for more rigid applications.

Our LDPE Products

We stock a range of LDPE grades suitable for injection moulding and other processing methods, including:

Prime LDPE

Natural injection moulding grades (typically MFI 8 and MFI 20), packed in 25kg bags.

Reprocessed LDPE

Black moulding grade, available in big bags.

Powdered LDPE

Pulverised to 1200μm, packed in 20kg bags.

We can also source LDPE (including linear LDPE) film and extrusion grades.
